+ GRAPHIC ART MOUNT RECEPTIONIST

Graphic Art Mount are looking for an organised and friendly receptionist who has a good knowledge of artistic production and an engagement with contemporary Australian art.

  • Working in a small team, the responsibilities of the receptionist will include:

    • Liaising with clients, galleries, artists and professional colleagues via phone and email

    • Maintaining organisational systems to track jobs and deadlines 

    • Registering and condition reporting artworks as they enter and leave the premises

    • Scheduling appointments, framing consultations and contractors

    • Liaising with suppliers, ordering materials and supplies

    • Pursuing media opportunities and partnerships

    • Maintaining the business' presence on social media

    • Arranging artwork transport and engaging with art installers    

    • Communicating effectively with team members in the office and in the workshop to help with production processes

    • Facilitate payments from clients over the phone and in person

  • We are looking for a friendly person with a strong moral compass, who will work alongside the team at Graphic Art Mount to streamline workflow. The ideal candidate will have:

    • Experience in arts/manufacturing administration

    • IT Competence (MYOB, Microsoft, Google & Adobe suites ideally)

    • Prior knowledge in fine art, conservation or museum studies

    • Organisational skills; able to implement strategies to organise the day-to-day running of the business

    • Experience in marketing and web design to maintain the website, social media and other online platforms

    • Strategic thinker; conscientious, good at multitasking, setting priorities and working towards organisational goals

    • Strong communication skills; resourceful and quick-thinking when it comes to customer service with a range of people and businesses

  • The position is at our St Peter's warehouse located a short walk from the train station.

    The role offers the potential to grow and expand, working with the team on the production of major fine art projects and the opportunity to support innovative and creative ideas.

+ GRAPHIC ART MOUNT EXPERIENCED PICTURE FRAMER

Graphic Art Mount is seeking an experienced Picture Framer to join our dynamic team.

As a Picture Framer at Graphic Art Mount, you will be responsible for framing valuable artworks, canvas stretching, cutting and joining frames, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. It is expected that a Graphic Art Mount Picture Framer maintains Graphic Art Mount’s high-quality standards, collaborates with the team, and contributes to the presentation of artworks for a diverse client base.

    • Woodworking: Utilise your woodworking skills to craft custom frames, including cutting, joining, and finishing frames to precise specifications.

    • Canvas Stretching: Stretch and mount canvases on frames, ensuring a tight and smooth finish that enhances the artwork.

    • Handling Artworks: Carefully handle, measure, and frame valuable and delicate artworks, ensuring their protection and presentation.

    • Frame Assembly: Assemble and fit artworks into frames, ensuring a secure and aesthetically pleasing result.

    • Quality Control: Inspect all completed frames and mounts to ensure they meet our high standards of quality.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with other framing and mounting specialists to manage workflow and maintain efficient production.

  • The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience in picture framing, a keen eye for detail and woodworking skills would be an added bonus.

    • Minimum of 3 years experience in picture framing, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your skills and craftsmanship.

    • Proficiency in woodworking techniques and tools, with the ability to create custom frames to exact specifications.

    • Experience in canvas stretching and handling valuable artworks.

    • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a close-knit team.

+ GRAPHIC ART MOUNT TABLE-SAW OPERATOR

We are looking for a team member to support our picture framing and mounting warehouse cutting substrates, sanding and preparing them for production.

  • Experience in cutting using a table saw is essential. We will not consider applications of individuals with less than a year of experience as a table saw operator.

    Experience using a CNC cutting machine is desirable but not essential.
